What were your impressions of the initiation ceremony? Were you surprised that Zoe was chosen to join the Beckoners? Were you surprised that she followed through with joining? If you were Zoe would you have taken this opportunity to break away for good?
On page 24 Zoe says "You don't turn your back on girls like this unless you're prepared for them to slice you wide open, and not necessarily right away - girls like this were brilliant at simmering resentments." Why do you think Zoe cares or is worried about what Beck and her posse thinks about her? What would you have done in this situation?
