I think that ender's gratitude is that he does really care about peter. Yes they will because they make ender look tuffer although he is 6 and the other kids will have more respect for him
He was thankful that peter tought him to be tough. Yes because if he couldn't have the skills he did Bernard would have ruined him.
he is thankfull to peter for teaching him to be tough and to hide his emotions so that all the stuff he's facing now is not as hard to over come.
Good answer Cody! I liked that you added the last part about hiding his emotions.
ender was thankfull for peter helping by being mean to him by bollying him so now he can put a fack face on when he is hert. but he whants to instablished him self into the a leader
Well "Mr.Jorje" this may have been a decent answer if you had taken the time to proof read it. I did like the part where you talk about putting on a fake smile though.
im not going to be the last one for once! Peter only help Ender because now, he can hide his emotion and when he gets hurts and wants to cry he doesn't because he can hold it in if he can hold it in front of his parents then he can hid them from everyone. I cant when my mom asks me what's wrong? I start crying harder. That's a very good skill. Ender is thankful to Peter for making him a stronger and it help him in the end I think.
Ender was thankful that Peter was tougher on him, if he wasn't he would not have known how to stick up for himself with those bullies. Yes they will, he is grown up to be defensive there for he will have an advantage over the other kids.Just because then he is a couple steps already ahead of them.
This is great that you too are thinking ahead. It's how Ender's mind works. He is always thinking about how his actions and reactions will effect his future.
The only thing Ender has Peter to thank for is how hard he was on him. Without being toughened up by Peter, Ender would have easily cracked under the other boys' influence.
Later in life, however, I think Peter's "lessons" will become useless as they only pertained to pain and suffering.
Great answer Byran! I'd like to hear more about the last part of your response. Do you think later in the novel Ender will no longer be experiencing pain and suffering?
I think he will still feel pain but there will be much more to worry about than 10 year old bullies.
Peter's lessons helped Ender toughen up so he wouldn't easily break to the other boys and so he could pass without feeling sad and depressed. No all Peter did was beat up Ender because Peter didn't have his monitor on for as long as Ender.
Peter toughened Ender up when they were 'playing'. This helps Ender at battle school because it shows the people that are evaluating the solders that Ender is tougher than the other solders because he doesn't cry. Especially on the first night.
Will this help him in the future?
Peter scaring Ender so Ender would toughen up. The scaring help Ender with people trying to fight and Ender smarts help him with technology.
Ender is grateful to Peter for making him tough and being kind of able to hide his emotions so he doesn't look like the weak link. Peter's lessons will help Ender be strong and take the hits.
It is very important that Ender does not look like the weak link as Casey put it. The staff at Battle School seem to set him up for failure so they can see if he has what it takes to succeed - persevere no matter what. Peter's bullying certainly helped Ender shield his emotions, and this helps him the first night away from home. I think that Ender has already formed a pretty strong shell around himself thanks to Peter, and it will take something very significant to break that.
Peter has taught Ender many useful things. They will most likely will help him with many things as he progresses through battle school. Things such as the fact that he is able to put himself in the buggers shoes because of him constantly being one in Peter and Ender's game. But this is could easily put him at a disadvantage for feeling sorry for the buggers as he knows how it feels to be taken down.
Well the book show that Andrew is grateful to Peter for teaching him to suck it up. Peter didn't teach him on purpose, but Andrew is still grateful. Another thing that will help Andrew become great is looking on the buggers side of thing's, because when him and Peter played buggers and astronauts
The lessons that Peter has taught Ender will probably help him at this time while being away from the people he loves, but soon he won't miss them as bad and he probably won't need those lessons to get by anymore. Ender is only thankful to Peter because it is the first time Peter has ever helped him.
